Volleyball Tryout Schedule

PLAYER EVALUATION GROUPS

  • ALL PROSPECTIVE ATHLETES will be placed in Evaluation Groups based on pre-season practices, as well as beach experience and ability

All tryout sessions will begin on time – please plan on checking in at least 15 minutes prior to the start time.

At the end of each training session, all athletes need to put way equipment and rake/level the sand on each court.

2026 TRYOUT SCHEDULE

Pre-season practices will be held prior to the start of the season. These sessions are designed to give prospective athletes an opportunity to regain their “sand legs” and receive instruction before official evaluations begin. In addition, these practices will assist the coaching staff in organizing court and group assignments for the first day of practice. All student-athletes must be fully cleared in order to participate.

  • January 21 (Wednesday; 4:30-6:00 PM)

  • January 23 (Friday; 4:30-6:00 PM)

  • January 26 (Monday; 4:30-6:00 PM)

  • January 27 (Tuesday; 4:30-6:00 PM)

  • January 29 (Thursday; 4:30-6:00 PM)

  • February 2 (Monday; 4:30-6:15 PM)

  • February 3 (Tuesday; 4:30-6:15 PM)

  • February 5 (Thursday; 4:30-6:15 PM)

  • February 6 (Friday; 4:30-6:00 PM)

All prospective athletes are expected to attend each day unless otherwise directed by the coaching staff.

  • February 9 (Monday)

    • 4:30-6:45 PM Athlete Evaluations

  • February 10 (Tuesday)

    • 4:30-6:15 PM Athlete Evaluations

  • February 11 (Wednesday)

    • Wednesday is Early Release.  Coaches will let athletes know which group to report to on Wednesday and Thursday

    • 4:30-6:45 PM Competitive Matrix (Navy Group)

    • 4:30-6:45 PM Competitive Matrix (Silver Group)

  • February 12 (Thursday)

    • 4:30-6:15 PM Competitive Matrix (Navy Group)

    • 4:30-6:15 PM Competitive Matrix (Silver Group)

WHAT TO BRING TO TRYOUTS

All prospective student-athletes need to be dressed out and prepared for practice.  Returning athletes should be wearing their beach practice uniform.
 
School policy: All students with athletic backpacks and/or other athletic equipment must check it before classes in the athletic storage located next to the Athletic Office. Please do not carry your bag to classes nor leave it in the PE Locker Room.

The Athletic Locker Room (not the PE Locker Room) will be available after school to change and then will be locked during the practice sessions. During the tryouts, please keep your belongings with you until teams have been announced and locks have been issued for the Athletic Locker Room.

 

 

ITEMS TO BRING AND/OR WEAR TO BEACH VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS:

  1. Water Bottle (bring plenty of water)

  2. Sunscreen

  3. T-shirt or Tank Top (tucked in)

  4. Spandex or athletic shorts

  5. Optional: Sand socks

  6. Backpack or Sports Bag (This is used to keep your personal items in)

PLEASE DO NOT WEAR OR BRING THE FOLLOWING TO VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS:

  • JEWELRY SHOULD BE REMOVED

    • Jewelry is restricted in high school volleyball.  This rule is different from club volleyball.

    • HIGH SCHOOL RULE: All jewelry must be removed, except small, secured studs or posts worn above the chin.  No jewelry is permitted below the chin, including string bracelets, commemorative bracelets and body jewelry. 

  • Cell phones are to be turned OFF (or set to silent) during all training sessions
