JERRY AZARES
ASSISTANT VOLLEYBALL COACH
Jerry Azares joined the Ironwood Ridge Women's Volleyball staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August of 2020 before being named the head coach of the Junior Varsity Team ahead of the 2022 season. Coach Azares is also the Junior Varsity Coach for the Nighthawk Beach Squad since 1999.
As the Junior Varsity coach, Azares was instrumental in helping the squad turn in a 19-9 overall record and a 14-6 Big West mark. During the 2022 season, Long Beach State went on a nine-match winning streak marking the longest such streak for the program since 2014. Additionally, Molina worked with and mentored four Big West All-Conference selections in Morgan Chacon, Katie Kennedy, Zayna Meyer, and Dylan Dela Cruz.
Azares has several years of coaching experience at the club level. Most recently, he has coached the 16U, 15U, and 17U National Level teams for Club Cactus Juniors Volleyball Club. His teams have competed nationally in California, Las Vegas, and New Mexico.
Prior to joining the Nighthawk coaching staff, Azares coached at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton from 199-, where his squads won the. Both of Azares' childern played at Ironwood Ridge for Coach Lang. Jerred was the starting Libero for the men's prog; and Jaedyn as an All-Region Libero on the 2020 team, where her team was 15-1 during the shorten was named the CCCAA Men’s Volleyball State Championship MVP after logging 28 digs in a five-set semifinal win over Golden West and another 14 digs against Orange Coast College in the final.

Born on January 26, 1970 in Batavia, New York, Lang is married to the former Charmaine Mayzak. Together, they have two daughters, Cosette Elizabeth (18) and Isabella Antoinette (16). Away from the gym, Coach Lang enjoys spending time with his family and cycling with his wife.
