Specialty Position Skills Camps

JULY 22=25, 2024

 

ENTERING GRADES 8-12 IN THE FALL

The Positional Skills Camps is specifically designed for athletes entering grades 8-12 who would like to learn and/or improve their skills and execution for specific positions.

  • Advanced Setter Camp

  • Defender/Passing Skills Camp

  • Attacker Skills Camp

Campers should select a main position before registration in the camp.

The sessions focus specifically on improving individual techniques for improved execution during game situations through excellent, intensive training. Our teaching philosophy is grounded in motor learning theory and biomechanical efficiency - the expectations of all camp attendees is that they come to camp ready to work hard, have fun, and make changes. Players enrolling in these camps should be ready for intermediate skills training.

 

The camp will be taught with a hands-on approach - each camper will be taken through step-by-step progressions, which will include basic fundamentals such as hand position, arm-swing mechanics, and footwork. Campers begin in position specific technical training stations and progress to small group combined training sessions. In the combined training sessions the campers have opportunities to respond to controlled multiple skill, multiple contact pass-set-hit and dig-set-hit progressions. Most sessions may be video-taped and the player-to-coach ratio provides more feedback than any other high school position-specific camp in Tucson!

 

The Positional Camps will also give all players the opportunity to play in their respective position in competitive scrimmage situations during the training sessions.

  • Tuesday: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

  • Wednesday: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

  • Thursday: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Camp Sessions (Setter and Attacker Groups)

  • Monday: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Tuesday: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Wednesday: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • Thursday: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

  • $125

  • $150 (Late Registration)
