The Ironwood Ridge Volleyball Camps are specifically geared to create a positive learning environment for all young athletes that want to improve. Head Volleyball Coach Bill Lang, the winningest coach in Southern Arizona, personally directs each camp session. The camps offer different sessions emphasizing different skill levels, positions, and age groups.
All athletes will receive individual feedback and training from our experienced IRVB Volleyball Camp Staff. Camp Staff includes IRVB Staff members, current student-athletes, former student-athletes, and well-respected coaches from around the community.
BILL LANG - CAMP DIRECTOR/HEAD COACH
Coach Lang is entering his 21th season at the helm of the Nighthawk Volleyball Program and personally directs each camp session. Lang has been the Women's Indoor Volleyball program's lone coach, where the Nighthawks have won 14 Regional Titles, 9 Final Fours, and 2 appearances in the State Championship. In 2018, Lang became the winnegest volleyball coach in Southern Arizona history by recording his 403rd win and reached the 500-win milestone in 2021.
Coach Lang also led the Nighthawk Men's Program from 2002-2005 and 2009-2016, and also started the school's Beach Volleyball Program in 2016. Lang was an assistant coach at Canyon del Oro and Rincon before taking over the Ironwood Ridge program in 2001. He also leads Club Cactus Juniors Volleyball Club as the Director and Head Coach.
Ashleigh Houlton is an assistant coach at Ironwood Ridge. She primarily works with the Liberos and Defensive Specialists on court, but also serves as the program's Strength and Conditioning Coach. In addition, Houlton lead the Nighthawk Men's Volleyball Team from 2017-19 and was the assistant coach for the Beach Team in 2016.
Houlton played volleyball as a defensive specialist/Libero at Pacific Lutheran University (Tacoma, WA) before joining the PLU staff as an Assistant Coach for four years. Prior to joining the staff at Ironwood Ridge, she was a teacher and coach in Daejeon, South Korea. Houlton also coaches the National Teams at Club Cactus Juniors Volleyball Club.
Coach Wojdyla was a member of the first Volleyball Teams at Ironwood Ridge in 2001-03 and the first Senior Class for the Nighthawks. She joined the staff in 2013 as the volleyball program's Freshman/Sophomore. Prior to that, she was the Head Coach at Tanque Verde High School. Wojdyla teaches Physical Education at Wilson K-8 School as well as the Head Volleyball Coach for the Wranglers.
Coach Azares is a long-time youth volleyball coach and parent in the volleyball community. Before joining the Nighthawk Volleyball coaching staff in 2019 as the Freshman/Sophomore team assistant coach, Azares was the Head Volleyball Coach at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for 8 years. In 2021, he was named the Junior Varsity Team coach and also coaches the National Teams for Club Cactus Juniors Volleyball Club.
Azares' children also played for Ironwood Ridge - Jerred (2013) and Jaedyn (2021) were both starting Liberos for the Nighthawks.
Courtney Landers joined the Nighthawk Volleyball staff in 2021 as an assistant coach for the Indoor Program and Beach Team. Prior to moving to Oro Valley, Landers was a longtime club coach for East Valley Juniors and Gilbert High School.
Coach Landers was named the Arizona Volleyball Gatorade Player of the Year in 2003, an award given to each State's top volleyball athlete. She played collegiate volleyball at Arizona State University, becoming the school's first ever Libero shortly after the position was created.
Ironwood Ridge Volleyball's 2015 Most Outstanding Player, Hannah Semon-Winkel, joined the coaching staff in 2021. She is also the Head Volleyball Coach for the Nighthawk Men's Program. WInkel was the starting First-Team All-Region Libero in 2015 and was the member of the school's inaugural Beach Volleyball Team.
Semon-Winkel played collegiate volleyball at Yavapai College (2016-17) before becoming the starting Libero an Team Captain at Texas A&M International (2018-19).
Sara Fox joined the Nighthawk Volleyball staff in 2021 as an assistant coach for the Indoor Program. While new to Oro Valley, Fox is no stranger to Nighthawk Volleyball fans as she was the Head Coach at Notre Dame Prep (2012-16) when both Ironwood Ridge and the Saints were the top teams in the 5A-II Division and traded wins each season for a four-year span. Before resigning at Notre Dame Prep, Fox guided the Saints to the 2015 Division II State Championship.
Tyler Low joined the Women's Volleyball staff in 2021 and is also the Assistant Coach for the Nighthawk Men's program since 2020. Low was the starting setter for Coach Lang and the men's program in 2016; the year before that we was the squad's starting Libero his junior year. Low also coaches for Club Cactus Junior Volleyball Club.
